My kids are always looking for ways to make money. My son brings in the mail and newspapers for the neighbors when they go on vacation. He takes care of the dog for another neighbor when they are away.
My daughter babysits. But, when she was a little younger she worked as a mother’s helper. For anyone who doesn’t know what that is, it is a babysitter that cares for the children while one or both parents are home. The sitter works for a reduced rate of pay (usually half of what regular babysitters charge) and gets on the job training. The parent will step in to teach the mother’s helper how to change a diaper or feed the baby etc. Then, the parent can take a nap, work on a project, or just get housework done while the mother’s helper plays with the kids. It’s usually a win-win situation!
