Federal child labor laws state that the minimum age to work is 14 (with some exceptions).

State: New Jersey

Child employment certificate needed to work: Required by New Jersey state law for kids under age 18.

Where to obtain employment certificate needed to work: Employment certificates are provided by the school. Ask about the employment certificates at your school's office to find out how to get a certificate.

Age certificate needed to work: Children ages 18 to 21 will be provided with an age certificate by request, however, it is not required under New Jersey state law. You can obtain an age certificate provided by the school.
