Summer Jobs for 15 Year Olds

If your teen is looking for a summer job, here are some ideas for 15 year olds. Jobs and pay are variable based on your location, the difficulty, and the time it takes to complete each job.

1. Lawn Mowing

If your child likes to be outdoors and regularly mows your lawn, lawn mowing is a great job to explore. Be sure to determine if your child will use your mower or the homeowner's mower.

2. Lifeguard

If your teen likes to swim, lifeguarding can be a great summer job. They'll get to spend time outdoors at the beach or the pool. 15 is the minimum age to be a lifeguard in many areas.

3. Babysitter

Babysitting is a popular summer job to explore when school is out. The Red Cross offers babysitters classes to prepare 11 to 15 year olds for babysitting.

4. Dog Walker

Dogs need to get out for exercise all year long, but in the summertime your kids will have extra time. Make sure that your child feels comfortable with the pet before they take them for a walk the first time.

5. Restaurant Worker

Depending on the state labor laws in your area, you may be able to be legally hired by a restaurant. Common jobs at this age include fast food workers, busing tables, and hosting.

6. Golf Course Worker

If your teen likes to golf, then a summer job working maintenance at the golf course could be the perfect summer job. Teens should explore jobs at places they like to spend a lot of time to find a summer job they will enjoy.
