With Halloween quickly approaching, you may be excited about decorating your house for the occasion. While you want your home and your decorations to look great for Halloween, you definitely don't want to break the bank by purchasing a whole bunch of outrageous decorations.
Luckily, this doesn't have to be the case as Halloween decorations are easy and inexpensive to make. Making Halloween decorations is also a great way to enjoy a few craft activities with your kids.
1. Scarecrow
The first decoration you can make is a scarecrow. The only items you will need are a pair of men's clothing and some stuffing. A pair of Jeans and a flannel shirt make the best scarecrow clothing. For the stuffing, you can either use the leaves that you rake up in your yard or crumpled up newspaper. Then simply nail or staple the scarecrow to a wooden pole or pillar of your home. This will definitely scare people when they walk by your property at night.
2. Large Pumpkins
Another great way to dispose of the leaves in your yard is to use them to stuff a few giant pumpkins. The next time that you purchase trash bags, simply purchase orange bags rather than black bags. Then you can fill the orange bags with leaves and leave them in your lawn. You can use a black marker or black paint if you want to draw a face on your huge pumpkins and turn them into Jack-o-lanterns.
3. Spider Webs
Spider webs are another example of how cheap and easy Halloween decorations can be. To make spider webs, look through your medicine cabinet and find your cotton balls. Pull the cotton balls apart until they are stringy and fine. Then tape or tack your new spider webs wherever you wish.
4. Ghost
No halloween would be complete without a ghost, and luckily this is one of the easiest Halloween decorations to make. All you will need is a broom, a plastic punch bowl, and a white sheet. Simply lean the broom up against any wall in your home, and place the punch bowl upside down on the top of the broom. Then put your white sheet on top of the entire contraption. If you don't mind ruining your sheet, then you can take a marker to it and draw a scary face. If you do decide to mark up your sheet, then you can always use it again next year.
