It is spring break time and the kids are excited to have the week off of school. Of course, many kids want to get a jump start on earning extra spending money. Here are some spring break job ideas for kids to earn extra money during the week off of school.

1. Spring Break Nanny

Many teens and pre-teens earn money by babysitting younger children for neighbors and friends. Spring break is a great time to try out the week with a nanny job for a family who has younger children off school for the week. If it works out, it could lead to a summer nanny position too!

2. Pet Sitter

This is often a great spring break job for young children. Many families will be heading out of town during spring break, so they will need someone to keep an eye on their pets while they are gone. Spread the word a few weeks before spring break and you should be able to line up a handful of families for the week. Just be sure you stick to a schedule to make sure all of the pets are cared for if you are sitting more than one pet.

3. Lawn Mowing

If your child likes to be outdoors and regularly mows your lawn, this could be a good job to explore during spring break, since many homeowners will be on vacation. Again, if you do a great job, you should be able to line up some jobs for the whole summer too!

4. Online Jobs

Doing surveys or selling crafts online could be a fun way to fill some time during spring break if you have bad weather and find yourself indoors with nothing to do. Just be sure to get your parents help when you explore online jobs for kids and keep safety first.

5. Camp Counselor

In many areas there are day camps during spring break for kids. If you are interested in being a summer camp counselor, trying it out for a spring break camp is a great way to find out if the job will be a fit. There are many types of day camps available to fit your interests including sports camps, outdoor camps, arts and crafts camps, and many more.
